SETHDENNIS Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Champion
Seth Dennis has had a consistent and impressive track record at the Ranch throughout his multiple years of competition the past three years -- second in the 51cc (4-6) Shaft Drive Limited class in 2015, first in the 51cc (4-6) Limited class in 2016, and second in the 51cc (7-8) Limited class in 2017. The Florida native returned to the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship for the 37th running of the event with his sights set on the number one plate in the 51cc (7-8) class, competing in the division for the last year before moving up to the 65cc ranks full-time. The first moto certainly didn’t go as planned for the Orange Brigade backed rider as he emerged from the first corner mayhem well outside of the top ten, but he stayed calm and composed and rode without panic as he steadily worked his way forward throughout the race. Dennis crossed the line in eleventh position on the opening lap, but he didn’t hang around as he instantly began to make moves toward the front of the pack. By the fourth lap around the track, the Team Dunlop Elite rider had gained eight places, easily settling into third position. Although that would’ve been a re- spectable result given the circumstances, Dennis was hungry for more as he clocked the fastest lap of the race on the final circulation of the track, stealing second position as he crossed the finish line under one second behind the leader. Although he didn’t get the moto win, it was a confidence inspiring ride given the circumstances that allowed Dennis to come out swinging at the next drop of the gate. The next two races were a cakewalk for the Orange Brigade backed rider compared to the first as he pulled both holeshots and set both fastest laps, taking control of the title hunt in commanding fashion in order to secure the second Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship of his young career.
