#377 Christophe Pourcel- It was another successful weekend for the Frenchman as he scored his second top 10 of the season. Although his 9th tonight in Atlanta was his second best finish of the year and second top 10 in a row, you can’t help but think that Pourcel wants more. Qualifying fastest of the day with a 45.294 second lap time
ahead of series points leader and defending champion, Pourcel would start his night with confidence but bad starts hindered his opportunity on besting his finish a week ago in Arlington. Heat race #2 would have all the heavy hitters starting at the front of the pack while Christophe would have a mid pack start, making it hard to get into a transfer position. With a 2nd place start behind Alessi in the semi it looked like The Frenchman was going to make short work of the Moto Concepts rider, until he crashed leaving him in the 5th and final transfer position. With another mediocre start Pourcel found himself hovering around the 10th-15th spot. The Crafty Frenchman was using his technique to his advantage taking many inside lines that no other rider was taking and pressured his way to 9th.
