The night began well for the number 19 Geico Honda rider, as an above average start saw him approach the triple in fifth place. Quickly past by veterans Reed, Dungey, and Canard, Justin was overwhelmed and swallowed to 8th by the completion of lap one. He would reside there until passing a staggering Mike Alessi, putting him into seventh. With the misfortune
of Canard and Stewart in front of him, the Oklahoman found himself climbing to fifth by the
checkered flag; although a remarkable finish, it would result in a trip to the semi.
Bogle chose the furthest inside gate position with his golden ticket for the second semi; it wouldn’t accumulate too much though, as he was mid-pack through the first series of jumps. Following Vince Friese, Bogle cleared the finish line gap in fifth, looking to advance. Pushing Friese aside, Bogle sat comfortably in fourth, where he would eventually finish.
As the board went sideways and the field darted into turn one, Geico Honda’s Bogle crossed the chalk in ninth po- sition. Eighth following lap four, Bogle would quietly work his way into sixth by the halfway point, with Cole Seely in tow. The pace for the 450 rookie seemed to be just a tad bit too much, as he yielded to both Seely and Roczen, registering in eighth on lap 17. The train wouldn’t stop there unfortunately, as Bogle was sweating and holding onto eighth as tight as he could, Anderson made his away around; Bogle now 9th with two to go. The number 14 would falter however, resulting in Bogle back to eighth and ending his night there.
