Another solid weekend at round 11 as Vince Friese nearly tied his best finish of the year, and only fell short by one position, finishing in 13th. Friese failed to qualify from his heat race and was headed to the semis. Blistering off of the gate in his semi Friese found himself at the front of the field early but was quickly passed by both of the JGR riders of Phil Nicoletti and Westen Peick. Eventually Vince succumbed to the pres- sure of Chad Reed and Jake Weimer and finished 5th. Unfortunately the #55 couldn’t get a holeshot in the main event like he did in the semi and started near the back of the pack. The Smartop/ Motoconcept rider was unable to make moves early and only could crawl his way to 13th.
