The tag team effect was in full force following the start of 250 moto one, as KTM Teammates Mitch Oldenburg and Justin Hill were linked at the hip, 16th and 17th respectively. Nearing lap six, Oldenburg had found Mitchell Harrison and twelfth, and began to pester the number 289 with an abundance of annoyance. Acting as a fly swarming the helmet, Harrison swatted feverishly, only to miss Oldenburg, and allow Mitchell to get away. He would remain in eleventh for the majority of the moto, taking the
final stripe in the position, just behind his teammate Justin Hill, as the moto began. Round number two saw Oldenburg living up to his consistency memo, holding tenth in the beginning stages. No time to catch the breath, he quickly felt the pressure of the points leader just behind, all the while trying to capture Chris Alldredge. Oldenburg was divebombing down Henry Hill, pushing the KTM to the brink of its rpm range. He wanted to stay with the front tier so bad, and it was apparent, even from a fan’s perspective. The young man would find himself staying here, although a remarkable effort, for the majority of the moto, bring- ing home a tenth place and eighth overall.
