>> Angelo Pellegrini has come back to America to show his impressive Ital- ian speed. After a 5-year hiatus from American racing, Angelo made his way back to Supercross just a week ago in Salt Lake. This time, he was contest- ing in the premier class and was eager to do his country proud. Angelo was looking quick all day and everyone was saying “who is that?” He continued to turn heads as the races began as he qualified for the Main Event and put in a solid ride. This weekend in New Jersey was no different and Angelo was ready to build some more confidence. The Italian was quick in practice and looked to be another Main event contender in the Shadows of New York City. In the Heat race, Pellegrini didn’t get the best start and was struggling early on. He would go on to finish 18th but was ready to bounce back. In
the Semi, he got a much better start and began to claw his way through the pack. With three laps to go, Angelo had made his way into a very impressive 5th place which would be good enough to qualify if he could hold on to the spot. As they neared the white flag, he began to feel some pressure from a rider behind him. Suddenly, BAM!, Pellegrini was slammed by another rider. He became face to face with the New England dirt but would regroup for the LCQ. In his 3rd gate drop of the night, he got a great start and took the lead quickly as the riders made their way through the freshly groomed track. An- gelo began to feel some pressure from another Suzuki rider and was forced to hand over the position. Luckily, he would hang on to 2nd place all the way to the finish as he punched his ticket to the Main for the second week in a row. Angelo did not get the best start as the final race of the night began. He made his way into 18th position quickly but would fall victim to the New England ruts on lap 6. He would eventually climb back up to finish in 19th position.
