>> Bryce Stewart has been competing in professional Supercross for many years now. So far this season, Bryce has contested in the 250 West Coast series. As the series headed east this weekend, Bryce was ready to try his cards in the big bore class. There is only a handful of privateer riders who can say they competed in a 2017 450 Main event and on Saturday night
in New Jersey, Bryce was ready to add his name to this short list. He was looking quick in qualifying and was eager to start the racing. Bryce didn’t get the best start when the Heat race began but was determined to improve his track position. By the time the race was over, he had made his way up to an impressive 12th place. In the Semi, his start wasn’t exactly what he was look- ing for but he put his head down and began to find his groove. Bryce contin- ued to stay smooth and fast and by the end he was knocking on the door of 6th position. As the last lap began, he had more or less accepted he wasn’t going to make it, that is, until he realized the two riders in front of him had tangled in the last corner. Bryce grabbed a handful of throttle and catapulted his Honda into the final position. He would go on to his first Main Event of the year. When the final race of the night began, Bryce was ready. He was run- ning top 15 early on and was doing his best to hold on to the impressive posi- tion. Unfortunately, the tricky track conditions forced him backwards as Bryce began to struggle. He then fell off of timing and scoring around the halfway point. He was scored with 22nd place in his first Main event of the year. Best wishes to Stewart, hopefully we will see him back next week.
