Stewarts really took care of me and Big James helped me out with some pointers and stuff, and Malcolm is always helping me out at the races. Hopefully I’ll be go- ing back there when I go to Florida for the GP and I’d like to train out there a little bit before supercross, but I’d have to talk to Malcolm and see. It was a really cool experience, that facility is insane. It was funny -- since we were getting ready for Daytona, we rode super- cross and then one day we did some outdoor motos between supercross -- it actually felt like it wasn’t my first time riding the outdoor track, because I had played it so much on MX vs. ATV and it felt like I already knew most of the track. It was really funny.
Did Big James have any golden advice for you? The biggest thing for sure was technique through the whoops -- a lot of guys want to shut off when they come into the whoops and then kind of get back on it, but it upsets the suspension. He basically worked with me on staying consistent, on the throttle all the way in and it definitely helps a ton with my whoop speed. So, that helped me out a ton for sure.
How did you get hooked up with LS2? I got a call around Monster Cup from Jon Kluiter and he said he had a new helmet that he wanted me to check out. I had him send me one and I ended up really liking it. The ventilation system is really cool on it and it’s super light, so we got the deal set up for supercross. It’s re-
ally cool that it worked out for both of us and I was able to be the first one getting into supercross and into the big show; it’s awesome.
What do you like most about the new MX470 Subverter? The ventilation system is definitely my
favorite feature. Not only that, but the fit and the com- fort of it -- I’ve never had it bother me or feel uncom- fortable, it was really comfortable from the first time I tried it. Also, it was pretty hot this year in Vegas and it helped there, so I could definitely see it helping in the outdoor conditions.
