ROUND 5 | OAKLAND
A regularly treacherous track in Oakland produced an unpredictable night of racing,
ruts, ruts, and more ruts. It posed one of the most challenging circuits of the year for the athletes of Monster Energy Supercross, providing the opportunity for both championship leaders to rise to the occasion. Jason Anderson and Ken Roczen participated in one of the most intense battles in recent memory, swapping plastic and position multiple times in the last few minutes of the race. It was a night chock-full of mistakes in both classes as Cole Seely and Christian Craig both crashed out of the lead in their respective main events, forfeiting HRC’s chances of winning their first overall of the season. Nonetheless, it seemed as though Roczen would swoop in and rescue their hopes of reaching the top step of the podium while simultaneously tasting victory for the first time since his crash, but El Hombre had other ideas. During his charge to the front of the pack, a developing narrative centered around the Baker’s Factory continued to develop as Anderson put his
