Blose and Woodstock /TZR KTM’s Travis Sewell. Hayes maintained a healthy lead until a red flag on lap 9 resulting in a single file restart. When racing resumed Hayes raced at the top of his game maintaining the lead through the checkered flag. As a result of his main event 1 win Hayes was tasked with selecting the starting order inversion. With the help of an enthusiastic audience Hayes selected the briefcase containing the zero allowing him first gate choice.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna presented by FMC and OTSFF rider Kyle Regal battled his way through a congested first turn to pull out a holeshot and take off to an early lead with Gavin Faith in tow. Faith closed in on Regal by lap 6 and made the pass to take over the lead in the challenging whoop section. Hayes charged hard to the front after a mid-pack start and worked his way into second place by lap twelve. On the final lap, when it appeared that Faith had the checkers in his sights a crash in the last turn took him out of the lead and gave Hayes the lead for the win.
With his 1-1 performance on the night Hayes now sits, third place in champion- ship points standing just four points from Chris Blose who is the current series points leader and only one point behind second place Gavin Faith. Action resumes next Friday and Saturday night from The PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, January 22-23.
