There are few riders who can say they’ve been a champion on the sport’s largest platform. And there are even less, to say they’ve car- ried a streak of championship run’s together, year after year. We call those competitors, the elite, and at the forefront of that division, is none other than Jett Reynolds. Coming into Loretta’s, many wanted to see
if he could keep the legacy intact, the moto’s amassing year after year. And although he would have a few slight hiccups throughout the week, the number 1 would show his true colors in this division. First on the opening lap, Reynolds was clarifying why his front plate would remain clean throughout the moto, as his charging into Storyland had him doubling and tripling anything and everything, no matter what the cost. Keeping the Kawi screaming around the grotesque corners, he would pull a gap further and further with every go around. He would go on to claim the moto victory. The second round was much of the same, although this time he was being monitored closely by Matt Leblanc. Reynolds remained calm under pressure, proving to the field that you must make a valiant effort of trying to rattle the Bakersfield native, other- wise he’s unscathed. With Leblanch staying just within striking distance, Reynold’s would hold on for yet another “one” on the score sheet. This is where it was supposed to all come together, the final moto of the week. We saw a sense of compo- sure during this particular race, as Reynold’s wasn’t pulling his usual lead on the opening lap. Instead, he was outside the top three, in fourth, knowing that his biggest threat’s were just ahead. However, he was methodical, rolling the throttle on when necessary, and smooth with the dragging of his front brake. No hiccups or errors, he would cruise to a third place, trailing Ryder Difran- cesco, and winner Matthew Leblanc. This would be enough to secure the title, and fulfill the goal he had prior to the beginning of the week.
