Working with his strengths Phil Nicoletti got some killer starts all night long. First off in his heat race where he starts out with the lead, but then quickly loses it to Pourcel. Now in second with with Roczen and Dungey all over him, he is working
as hard as he can to stay in front of them. With no lack of effort on Nicoletti’s part they were able to get by him placing him back to fourth, where Friese begins to close in. Before the race is up Friese passes him causing him to lose his transfer spot. Nicoletti’s next good start happened in his semi where he gets the hole shot, but Brayton gets by on the second turn. Now in second Peick begins to close in, also getting by him. Not wanting to lose anymore transfer positions, Nicoletti is fighting hard to stay in third. He makes a mistake through the whoops, where Seely is able to get by him. Keeping close to him he moves on to the main after finishing
