the early going of heat two, taking the lead and sprinting away from the field. He realized, this wasn’t a marathon, and every burst of energy he could expend with his muscle fibers initially, would be well worth the effort. Holding strong in the lead, Ryder Kings- ford sat second, and Smerdon third; the order would remain like in this in the final few laps,
and would remain at the conclusion. The battle royale was now upon us, and Nick Romano was one of the first to lunge for the lead. With his Bayside, New York swagger, he began to rough up the leader
of Matti Jorgensen. Pushing him up against the wall, he forced Jorgensen to cough
up the lead in the early going, but not without a fight. Jorgensen would through a stout up- percut, but Romano,
as quick witted as ever, slipped and avoided, tossing Matti to the wayside. He would then continue to pull the lead, taking what Jorgensen gave, and running with it. Scrubbing every double in sight, he was making the Kawasaki sing in perfect harmony, shifting with utter preci- sion. After putting down the fastest lap of the moto, it was his race for the taking. Romano had done it, putting a smile on the faces of everyone and green, and bringing home a championship to his resume.
