Tanner Stack is one rider among the amatuer ranks that has shown an immense amount of potential throughout his career. Despite a few setbacks from injury in the last couple of years, the South Carolina native has put together a healthy collection of podium finishes through- out the majority of the major nationals, including Loretta Lynn’s. He parted ways with the MotoConcepts Racing team after an up and down season in the B class in 2016, joining forces with the Altus Motorsports EBR Performance Yamaha squad for his first year in the A class. Stack missed spring nationals after suffering a brutal crash while racing AX in which he broke the radius and ulna in his left arm. But, his recovery time allowed him to put together a run at Loretta Lynn’s and he ended up earning a sixth place in the 250 A class against some incredibly stacked competition. The Yamaha rider came into the 2017 Baja Brawl gunning for his first AMA title in the A class, competing
in both 250 and 450 classes. Stack found his speed within no time throughout Friday’s practice sessions, pulling the trigger on the daunt- ing table-to-single jump in the middle of the racetrack. Although he found the speed in the early stages of the weekend, he didn’t forgo the consistency. The South Carolina native was arguably the most consistent rider in any class throughout the entire event, finishing every moto that he contested on the podium. His first race on Saturday set the tone for the remainder of the weekend, battling Team Green
