His effort in both Supermini classes would be lauded for it’s consistency, finishing the weekend with three top five finishes and a personal best of third place on the last day of racing, rewarding him with a fifth place overall in the Supermini 2 class. The Mini Sr. 2 class was another story for the Michigan native as he really took things to another level on the YZ85, showing immense amounts of confidence in his riding ability. Blackmer started the weekend with a stellar second place finish behind Jack Chambers after tracking him down for the entirety of the moto. Lil C shot out of the gate to a fourth place start, but he quickly moved forward, establishing himself as the fastest rider on the track while tracking down the leader. The Yamaha rider clocked the best lap time of the moto on the penultimate lap as he scythed past Jordan Biese in tandem with Chambers, and the two of them set off on their own battle for the win. Blackmer just ran out of time as he crossed the line under half of a second behind the KTM rider, but he set himself up for success in the following motos. A slight mistake in the second moto saw him drop back to fifth place on the second lap, but the Michiganian put forth the ride of a champion as he clawed his way back to third place in just two laps, salvaging crucial points for the overall. It all came down to the final moto and Blackmer made it count out of the starting gate, stealing the hole- shot from his competitors as he embraced the clear track ahead of him. The Yamaha rider came under immense amounts of pressure from the KTM of Wyatt Liebeck, but he was unphased in the lead, handling the situation like a true veteran. His lap times remained consistent from start to finish and he took the checkered flag with gap of almost half of a second ahead of the KTM rider, clinching the championship in the Mini Sr. 2 class to the delight of his family in attendance.
