Eli was the only one doing a tricky triple in the back, and that might have been the extra half second he needed to edge out James Stewart to win Heat 1. When the gate fell for the Main, the number 3 Kawasaki came out in 12th. Eli would eventually end the night with a 7th, his worst finish of the season so far.
