Wil Hahn would continue to take steps in the right direction at Oakland. His night would start with a quiet 8th place finish in his heat race and a trip to the semis. A good start in the semi would put him in good position to transfer. After a quick battle with Mike Alessi, Hahn would inherit 2nd and go after the leader Justin Brayton. Hahn looked aggressive and stalked Brayton all the way to the finish but could not make the pass. He would settle for 2nd but that was good enough for a ticket to the main event.
Hahn would start outside the top 15 in the main event that would force him to charge his way forward. He would do just that as he battled hard through the stacked 450 field and climbed his way into 10th place by the end of the race. It was a gritty performance by Hahn as he
earned his best finish of the year. He will look to dive deeper into the top 10 next weekend at Glendale. GRITMOTO • FEBRUARY.1.16
