A woman awakes in the middle of the night to find her husband not in bed. She puts on her robe and goes downstairs to look for him.
She finds him sit- ting at the kitchen table with a cup of hot cocoa in front of him. He appears to be deep in thought, just staring at the wall. She watches as he wipes away a tear from his eye.
“What’s the mat- ter dear?” she whispers as she steps into the room. “Why are you down here at this time of night!?”
The husband looks up from his drink, “It’s the 20th anniversary of the day we met.”
She can’t believe he has remem- bered. She starts to tear up.
The husband con- tinues solemnly, “Do you remem- ber 20 years ago when we started dating? I was 18 and you were only 15.”
Once again, the wife is touched to tears thinking that her husband is so caring and sensi- tive.
“Yes, I do,” she replies.
The husband pauses... ... the words were not coming easily.
“Do you remem- ber when your father caught us in the back seat of my car?”
“Yes, I remem- ber,” said the wife, lowering herself into a chair beside him.
The husband con- tinued.
“Do you remem- ber when he shoved the shot- gun in my face and said, ‘Either you marry my daughter or I will make sure you spend the next 20 years in prison?'”
“I remember that too,” she replied softly...
He sighed as he wiped another tear away from his cheek and said, “I would have gotten out today.”
The only way to pull off a Sunday afternoon “Quickie” with their 8 -year old son in the flat, was to send him out on the bal- cony with a Popsicle and tell him to report on
all the street activities.
Their 8-year old began his com- mentary as his parents put their plan into opera- tion;
‘There’s a car being towed from the car park,’ he shouted.
‘An ambulance just drove past’
‘Looks like the Anderson’s have visitors,’ he called out.
‘Matt’s riding a new bike!’
‘Looks like the Sanders are mov- ing!’
‘Jason is on his skateboard!
.
After a few moments he announced,
‘The Coopers are having a shag!
Startled , his mum and dad shot up in bed!
Dad cautiously called out, ‘How do you know that?’
Jimmy Cooper is standing on his balcony with a Popsicle .

Aug. 10 (UPI) - - A proud New Jersey mother celebrated her daughter receiv- ing a doctorate by purchasing space on a bill- board in a busy area.
Kendra Busbee, 52, of Camden, said she paid $1,250 to have the face of her daughter, Kristine Smalls, 30, printed on the billboard overlooking Route 130 in Camden to con- gratulate her on earning her doc- torate in psychol-
ogy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
"At the age of 5 years old, she knew that she wanted to be a doctor," Busbee told WPVI-TV.
The billboard came as a sur- prise to Smalls.
"She typically goes above and beyond for me and my brother whenever we, like, have any type of accom- plishment," Smalls told the Philadelphia
Inquirer. "She kind of outdoes herself each time."
Busbee said the billboard was aimed at con- gratulating her daughter as well as inspiring local youngsters to achieve.
"We once heard that nothing good comes out of the city of Camden, and we just wanted to let them know this is something good that comes out of the city of Camden," Busbee said.
