Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Animal rescuers in New York's Suffolk County used a remote-controlled car to rescue a kitten stranded in a pipe between two storm drains.
The Strong Island Animal Rescue League said on social media that rescuers responded to call for assistance from Suffolk police when the kitten's predicament was discov- ered Tuesday night in Manorville.
The pipe was found to be too small for rescuer
Frankie Floridia to crawl through, so the rescuers decided to use a remote- controlled car for the res- cue.
They had the car drive into the pipe from one side and used it to push the kitten safely out the other side.
The rescue plan "worked perfectly," Strong Island Animal Rescue League said, although the RC car took on some water dam- age.
"We plan to buy more capable remote control car and work smarter not harder," the post said.
Baxter the beagle overheard his owner talking about a dog food commercial audi- tion and decided he was destined for stardom.
He practiced his “soulful eyes” in front of the mirror, convinced he’d nail the part.
At the audition, Baxter ignored the director’s cues, chased his tail instead of sit- ting still, and barked at the camera like it was a squirrel.
The crew burst out laughing when he stole a prop bone and hid under the table, refusing to come out.
By some miracle, the director loved his “authentic chaos” and cast him on the spot.
Now, Baxter’s face is on every dog food bag, and he still thinks he’s just guarding his bone from that sneaky camera!
Grandma Ethel, at 85, decided she was done with her old flip phone and want-
ed to join the smartphone craze.
She marched into the store, demanded the “fanciest gadget,” and came home with a phone smarter than her grandson’s entire gaming setup.
The first week, she accidentally joined a group chat with strangers, send- ing them recipes for her famous meatloaf instead of her book club.
By day three, she was livestreaming her knitting ses- sion, thinking it was a private call with her sister.
The internet went wild, dubbing her “Knitting Nana,” and she gained 10,000 followers overnight.
Now, Ethel’s try- ing to figure out why her phone keeps buzzing with requests for her secret stitch technique!
Why did the chicken join a band? It had the drumsticks and wasn’t afraid to wing it on stage!
The other animals thought it was just clucking around, but that chicken laid down a beat so egg-cellent, it sold out the barn- yard. Now it’s touring with the Rolling Roosters, living the rockstar life!
Why did the tomato turn red at the vegetable comedy club? It overheard the carrots telling spicy jokes and got totally embar- rassed! The other veggies were cracking up, but the tomato just couldn’t ketchup with the humor. By the end of the night, it rolled out blushing brighter than a beet!
Why did the com- puter go to thera- py? It had an identity crisis after being asked if it was human one too many times! The therapist tried to debug its emo- tions, but the computer kept crashing from overanalyzing its binary feelings. In the end, it just needed a reboot and a good laugh at its own "byte- sized" problems!
