A man was arrested after he was accused of climbing on top of a sunbathing woman at the beach and “thrusting,” California police say.
Following the incident, Alonzo Dickson, 25, was arrested on a felony count of sexual battery, the Santa Monica Police Department said in an Aug. 28 news release.
“It’s horrible for the commu- nity,” Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock told FOX 11. “I can’t stop thinking about that girl and how she must feel.”
As a woman sunbathed on the beach a short distance from the Santa Monica Pier the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 27, a man approached, police said.
He then “climbed on top of her and started thrusting against her,” police said.
The woman quickly stood
up, while her sister pushed the man away, police said.
As the woman looked for help, the man fled south on the beach, according to police.
Officers searched the area and found a suspect that matched the woman’s description of the man, police said.
The man, Dickson, was identified as the suspect and arrested, according to police.
Dickson, who is being held without bail, is expected to appear in court on Aug. 29, jail records show.
While Dickson has not pre- viously been arrested in California, “he has at least one pending criminal case in Washington,” according to police.
As part of their investigation into the beach incident, police said they are looking into the details of the Washington case.

Conor McGregor is running for President.
Fed up with the “charlatans” in charge of his native Ireland, the former UFC two-division champion plans to enter the political arena in 2025 to shake up the establishment — or dissolve it completely — and give the power back to the work- ing class.
“As President I hold the power to summon the Dáil as well as dissolve it,” McGregor wrote on social media. “So as I said before, I would have all the answers the people of Ireland seek from these thieves of the working man, these disrupters of the fami- ly unit, these destructors of small businesses, and on and on and on!”
That would likely bring an end to his oft-delayed UFC comeback.
“These charlatans in their
positions of power would be summoned to answer to the people of Ireland and I would have it done by day end,” McGregor continued. “Or I would be left with no choice but to dissolve the Dáil entirely. Stop the train until. The people of Ireland deserve the answers they seek. Point blank. This would be my power as President. I know very well. Ireland needs an active President employed wholly by the people of Ireland. It is me. I am the only logical choice. 2025 is upcoming...”
McGregor, 36, has not com- peted in over three years and recently bailed on his UFC 303 comeback after suffering a broken toe. In fact, UFC CEO Dana
White “is not even thinking about” McGregor’s return, which puts opponent Michael Chandler in an awkward spot.
As of this writing, “Iron” has yet to respond to McGregor’s political aspira- tions.
