will begin its 10th season of Straight
Up Basketball and Cheerleading with evaluations on Nov. 14, volunteer training Dec. 5 and first week of practices Dec. 14. Games begin Jan. 31. Brandt Lyon is pastor.
PRINCETON — For the past 21 years, Southside Baptist has hosted Judgement House. However, the production has been canceled this year because of COVID-19. The drama is staged over a seven-day period and draws more than 2,000 people. “This was a tough call to make because Judgement House is an incredibly important ministry for Southside and one of our favorite ways to celebrate lives being eternally changed,” said Pastor Kyle Noff singer. “With current state regulations,
we felt the need to protect the health and safety of our guests, actors, counselors and volunteers. We explored other ways to have Judgement House, either by in-person or by video. It didn’t feel right to have Judgement House in either of these formats given
the circumstances.” Instead, the church is planning a combination of locally-hosted events, videos and streamed content as a Judgement House replacement.

WINCHESTER — Mike Miller is serving as director of missions for the Boone’s Creek Association.

WINSTON — Providence Baptist will have revival services Oct. 18-22 with T.A. Lester preaching. The church had Homecoming Sept. 27 and Bill Meece was the preacher. Tim Roberts is pastor.
WOODBURN — Sunday School/Small Group Essentials will be a worship workshop conducted by Dan Garland at Woodbury Baptist. It is sponsored by the Warren Association of Baptists. John Mark Toby is associational mission strategist.

COLUMBUS — Herbert Stephens is celebrating his 10th anniversary this month as pastor of Obion Baptist.
EAST BERNSTADT — First Baptist is celebrating 100 years of ministry this year. Todd Gray was guest preacher Aug. 30 and presented a certificate from KBC recognizing that milestone. Norm Brock is pastor.
ECHOLS — Alton “Doc” Crowe resigned as pastor of Pond Run Baptist.
EDDYVILLE — Charity Baptist started a brotherhood group. Brotherhood consultant David Cotton spoke at its first meeting. Mitch Coomer is pastor.
EDDYVILLE — Chris Lowery is serving as pastor of Liberty Baptist. He previously was pastor of Second Baptist in Marion.

Ky., and a former Kentucky
pastor, died Aug. 6, 2020. His
first church was Crossroads
Baptist in Cadiz and first full-
time pastorate was Southside
Baptist in Princeton. After
retiring from a 35-year pastorate at First Southern Baptist in Evansville, Ind., he began a Wings of Victory ministry. He
was interim pastor of Highland Baptist in Henderson, then was called as pastor. He preached more than 300 revivals and was involved in a crusade in India and mission work/preaching in Trinidad. He served one year as Southern Baptist Convention vice president, several years as a trustee on the SBC Sunday School Board and was a two- term president of the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana. Funeral services were Aug. 11 at First Southern Baptist Church.
FRANKFORT — Josh Benton, a deacon at Buck Run Baptist, has been named vice president of Send Relief. Previously he was secretary of the Cabinet for Education and Workforce Development in Kentucky. Hershael York is pastor.
FREDONIA — Lester Watson is supply preaching at Unity Baptist.
FULTON — Riceville Baptist will have Homecoming on Oct. 11. Dale True is the speaker and Barry Patrick will provide special music. Richard Hart is pastor.
FULTON — Stephen Cavness was honored for seven years as pastor of First Baptist. He received a sabbatical for four weeks.
FULTON — Cayce Baptist had Homecoming Sept. 13 and revival services Sept. 14-16 with Floyd Lammersfield preaching. Mark Dowdy is pastor.
KUTTAWA — Mike Boyd is serving as pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist. He previously served as the church’s interim pastor.
LAMASCO — Dean Ray has resigned as pastor of Lamasco Baptist.
LEBANON — Adam Bland has been ordained as a deacon at Muldraugh Hill Baptist. Billy Compton is pastor.
LEXINGTON — Boone’s Creek Baptist called Timothy Wade as its pastor.
LEXINGTON — Daniel Raikes was ordained Aug. 30. He has been called as the pastor at Woodlawn Baptist.
LOUISVILLE — Bennett Black was ordained as a deacon at Eastpoint Community Church, being the first deacon for the young church. Kris Billiter is pastor.
MAYFIELD — Trace Creek Baptist will host a Pastor Appreciation Dinner Oct. 19 for pastors in the Graves County Association. Glynn Copeland is associational mission strategist.
MEANS — Means Baptist presented more than 60 new leather-bound Law Enforce- ment Bibles to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Sterling City Police Department and Mernifee County Sheriff’s Office. Joey Rogers is pastor.
MONTGOMERY, ALA. — Larry E. Armstrong, 81, died Aug. 5, 2020. He served in the ministry for 48 years, including associate pastor
of Beechmont Baptist in Louisville. Funeral services were Aug.8, 2020 at Pelham, Ala.
