I KNOW I am tempting fate and just asking for the gods to punish my presumption but, with Auckland having just re-entered Alert Level 1 – and, presuming we stay at that level – the 2020 Hardware Awards are go for 4 November!
I am particularly looking forward
to hearing about 2020 MC Scotty Stevenson’s year which will no doubt be both interesting and amusing.
Without wishing to sound negative,
I am also excited to see the end of
this year’s Awards process, which has stretched out over a month longer than normal and has at times been a bit touch and go thanks to Covid-19, if I am honest.
As many of our readers will appreciate, the scale of disruption that has touched our industry has also touched NZ Hardware Journal and we’re having to do more with less, which I guess is a new normal, if not the new normal.
Having said that, the team and I really do appreciate the level of support that the industry has shown as this year’s Awards programme has progressed.
Even those who don’t wish to actively take part in our celebration of the hardware and home improvement channel have been nothing less than supportive.
In this respect the centre 20 pages of this issue of NZ Hardware Journal have been devoted to the Finalists in the 2020 Hardware Awards, why they have reached the heady stage that they have and what makes them special, both individuals and teams.
We did this last year but only distributed it among ticket holders to our Awards Gala Dinner so this year everyone gets to see what makes these people tick, as individuals and as teams.
At the risk of repeating myself, do take a moment to book your seat at the 2020 Awards Gala Dinner – there’s always a last-minute rush and seats are limited, so don’t leave it until too much later...
All the details of how to reserve your place at the industry event of the year can be found online at www.hardwarejournal. co.nz/awards/awards-2020/
I hope to see you all there but, if you just cannot be there, you can hear all about the event online and on our Facebook page, live and as soon as it happens.
Look too for full coverage of the Awards in our December magazine.
