Towards a smarter home with Netatmo
Netatmo by Legrand has some clever integrated smart home technology segmented into four key areas – Security, Energy, Weather and Air Care – to help users create a safer, healthier, and more comfortable home.
The core indoor range currently consists of a Smart Indoor Camera (photo above left) that can recognise faces and gives access to all features, subscription-free, Smart Door and Window Sensors that detect when
a door or window is opened suddenly and send a notification to your smartphone, and a Smart Indoor Siren which uses the the Smart Indoor Camera’s face recognition and people detection to trigger a powerful 110dB alarm if an unknown face is detected during your absence.
Staying indoors, Excel Life Smart and Arteor with Netatmo (photo above right) are smart switches and power outlets that allow the remote control of lights, roller shutters and home appliances through voice commands to Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa or via smartphone.
Outside, the Smart Outdoor Camera can distinguish between people, animals, vehicles and harmless movements and sends a notification to your smartphone when an unknown vehicle or person is detected on your property and, to help in the garden care, the Smart Home Weather Station and add-on products the Smart Rain Gauge and Smart Anemometer all show data directly on your smartphone.

heat pumps go R32
Most Fujitsu General heat pumps/air conditioners in New Zealand under 9kW are now available using R32 refrigerant including the new R32 models, available from May, the Compact Cassette (AUTH09/12/18KVLA), and Bulkhead 620mm (ARTH09/12/18KLLAP) models.
The Compact Cassette indoor units feature a two-stage Turbo Fan to allow air to be distributed evenly across the heat exchanger. Optimising the wing form and adopting the laminar wing enables airflow to run smoothly resulting in quiet operation. Noise reduction is also improved by the outdoor units’ sound power level which is now up to 7dB less than the previous R410A models.
In addition to the models upgraded to R32 refrigerant, there are
also new 450mm Compact Bulkhead models (ARTH09/12/18KSLAP) which can be installed in tight bulkhead applications such as above a wardrobe and also features a built-in drain pump, as well as easy access for maintenance. An Auto Louver Grille Kit is also available to enable air to flow all the way down to the floor.
The new R32 cassette, and bulkhead models come with a six-year parts and labour warranty for long-term performance and peace of mind in domestic applications when installed by a Fujitsu Accredited Installer. Fujitsu General New Zealand, 04 568 8761, www.fujitsugeneral.co.nz
