2019 SECURITY PATROL REPORT
When you read the NEWSWATCH, there are several reports for the neighborhood that are made available to you as homeowners so you can see the factual data that is collected each month. First, let us identify what the Shenandoah Estates Crime Prevention and Improvements District, (SECPID), scope of work is. Monies are dedicated from the property owners of the 2,160 residential properties that represent Shenandoah Estates. The money is budgeted to pay for the uniformed patrol and for improvements that make Shenandoah Estates a safer and better place to live. The Patrol Stats provide an oversite of what actions were taken by the patrol group. The Calls for Service is the statistical oversite of ALL CALLS made to EBRSO Dispatch where a Uniformed Deputy responded.
The patrol group is made up of eight fully commissioned deputies who are employed by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. The eight deputies come from a variety of specialized training units, Detectives, Criminal Patrol, K-9, Crime Scene and Traffic. All of the Deputies are certified in speed and traffic enforcement.
There is a rule for criminal enforcement that is proven and is not an opinion. If there is an active traffic enforcement program in an area, the criminal activity is minimized. When you observe a unit with the blue lights on, there are other individuals that also see this. Since Shenandoah Estates

The next set of comparisons, the Calls for Service, is what speaks volumes to what a proactive patrol brings to Shenandoah Estates.
1. There were 328 Calls for Service in 2019, for a neighborhood of 2,160 homes. (Less than one call per day and a monthly average of 27 calls per month)
2. Of the 328 Calls for Service, there were only four burglaries.
