Page 16 - GM-Don't Bee Angry
P. 16

I am sure that you noticed that these Anger Bees became upset very quickly. If you have read many of my stories, then you remember that their anger was caused by what they were thinking. In the case of the young bear, they said “What is he doing in our orchard? I bet he is coming over here to get our honey.” They were making themselves fearful (getting our honey) and then angry. But the bear was not a real threat and thus the Anger Bees overreacted.
Then the Anger Bees became upset because the other hive was playing pretty bee music. Why should that upset the Anger Bees? If you tell yourself something such as, “They can play better music than me. Others will laugh at my poor music,” then you might become angry.
Your anger is caused by jealousy or embarrassment. Someone else can do something better than you so you make yourself jealous or embarrassed and then you may even become angry.
You now understand that what the Anger Bees told themselves (Stinky Thinking) caused them to become upset. Let’s try to think of something they could have told themselves (Good Thinking) about these two situations that would have caused them to not get so upset.
