Page 24 - GM-Don't Bee Angry
P. 24

If the Anger Bees had used this Good Thinking, they could have controlled their anger and would have been able to have OK emotions and Thumbs Up behavior.
Unfortunately for the Anger Bees, they did not control their thinking and continued to make themselves angry. This angry thinking became a habit for them, as it can for you and they were not liked by the other animals. Others may not say anything to you for fear of making you even more angry but that does not mean that they like your behavior or think it is okay.
As with the Anger Bees, some humans find these bad feelings so unpleasant that they will use drugs or alcohol to make themselves feel better. This too can become a habit and as with the Sour Honey Anger Bees, it can lead to a sorry end.
The story lets you see how silly, angry thinking can be for both the bees and yourself. If your thinking contains a lot of, “Shoulds,” “Musts” and “Oughts” then you are having a lot of anger producing Stinky Thinking. But there is a way of obtaining control of this process.
When you start having angry feelings (Not OK), stop yourself from reacting and ask yourself, “What am I thinking right now? Does it make any sense? What is another way of thinking about this? What will happen if I did something other than my usual behavior?” If you stop and do this and change your Stinky Thinking into Good Thinking, you will not be an Anger Bee and others will want you to stay in their "orchard".
