Successfully dealing with life (coping) often means not doing things that are fun because of the negative consequences as well as doing things you dislike or fear because there will be long term positive results or rewards.
You need to learn the two important lessons of this story.
1. Do not ask someone else to do something for you that you should and could do for yourself.
2. Do not allow others to get you to do things for them that they should and could do for themselves.
Use your Benjamin Franklin Decision Making Method until it becomes natural for you to think of the positive and negative consequences of your decisions and behaviors. Your teacher or parent will be asking you to tell them about possible consequences of your decisions and behaviors to help you focus on them.
