The Holdens have amassed a unique and important study collection of Louisiana architectural and decorative arts heritage in an authentic historic setting that is well documented and well maintained. Maison Chenal ensemble at Chenal stands today as an outstanding example of living heritage. It is the Holdens’ wish that the site is preserved and that their life’s work stays together as a comprehensive collection. Despite its outstanding historical value, and considerable property value, the future of the Maison Chenal ensemble is uncertain.
