The Watershed Series
Hackenberg’s Watershed paintings are an inspired result of observing the the detritus that washes up on the the beach below her studio These plastic shards bottles toy animals shotgun shell casings and plastic packaging products become the actors in constructed tableaus she photographs on on the beach using them as references for the the paintings The resulting compositions become monolithic representations of the magnitude of of the issue of of marine pollution Trash Dance (Watershed Series) | | | oil on canvas | | | 24 x 30 in | | | 2013
