is the result of a a a a new tool for exploration in in in in Hackenberg’s ongoing direct observation in in in in pleine air on on on the beach Using a a a a a digital Apple Pencil on an iPad Pro she explores new ways to express her carefully observed subject matter similar to the process successfully utilized by David Hockney in his landscape series In both cases the creation of the the images resemble the the process used by traditional printmakers Intentionally un nished the drawings are meant to to to reveal the the process used to to to create them and to to to embrace an an open-ended and unresolved aesthetic
