Page 2 - 2017 First UMC Cary Annual Report
P. 2

This report is a snapshot of the year for First United Methodist Church of Cary.
What a year it has been. As you read, you will be reminded of the many gifts and surprises that 2017 held for us. You will see that we continue to grow our ministries of discipleship and outreach as other congregations struggle. We continue to grow both spiritually and numerically. You will recall our spring Building to Serve Capital Campaign and our strong endorsement of our building expansion and renovation project. You will recall mission teams sent forth into the world and missional opportunities here at home, special worship services that drew us closer to God and one another, gatherings for fellowship simply to “be” together, and occasions for study that enabled us to grow in our faith. It was a strong year of mission and ministry in Jesus’ name and as you read I encourage you to give thanks to God.
Best of all, we believe that 2018 holds new promise and new possibility as we move into the future that God imagines for us, a future of “making disciples of Jesus Christ who
grow in faith and love through worship, fellowship, service and witness to one another
and the world.”
“As you read this annual report, I pray that it
will inspire and encourage you to renew your commitment to share the heart of Christ from the heart of Cary.” — Carl Frazier, Lead Pastor
