After graduating UMass (when there was only UMass Amherst), I taught in various places including Cape Cod, Boston, Florida and Maryland. A few years ago, I retired after working for 44 years in the education field - as a classroom teacher, special educator, administrator, and consultant.
My husband of 47 years, Steve, and I are currently "stay-at-home" grandparents providing child care to our grandchildren - and loving every minute of it!! Any spare time is spent outdoors going on nature hikes, gardening, cruising to the Caribbean, or working on our older son's farm.
Our younger son spent many years in the Peace Corps - stationed in Africa as well as St. Vincent/The Grenadines. I t was an eye opener vis- iting him! After briefly staying with him, I really appreciate indoor plumbing and ice cubes! I hope the last 50 years have been kind to everyone.
