Outside of America
Traveling doesn't have to be expensive or dangerous. In the past, I have
suggested that my friends travel one to four times per year. It was a way of
having them reward themselves for working jobs they didn't like.
If you decide to leave your country of citizenship, you have to ask yourself the
following:
• Do I have enough money to survive for 2 years?
• How will I survive?
• Do I have what I need to start a business?
• Am I relocating alone? If not, do I have enough money for those
accompanying me?
• How often do I have to return home to be legal in the visiting country?
• Do I want to live permanently in the country of my choice?
• Do I have to marry for residency purposes?
• How many years does residency take?
• Can I survive with English, alone?
• Can I speak or learn to speak the language of the country of choice?
• Is the country of choice friendly to people from my country?
• If I become ill, will I get the medical attention I need?
• Do I want to rescind or revoke my citizenship from my own country?
• Should I take my car?
• Am I on the run or am I expatriating?
How you answer the above questions will determine how you should play out
your move. If you are not looking for trouble, you should not encounter any. Of
course you should not go to any place looking and conducting yourself as a
spoiled American, if you are on the run or just looking to do business.
If you are an American, Canadian or British citizen, and you can make
adjustments, life can be remarkably beautiful in any of the less fortunate
countries.
