Advantages to living outside of
America are 1) Family is valued 2)
People work to live rather than live to
work 3) Life is slower.

Life in America is moving pretty fast
whereas in other countries, people
are more relaxed, patient and
friendly. Surely, you will find danger
anywhere you go, but as an American
you are fine-tuned and wired for
danger whether you ever threw a
punch, got sucker punched or just
watched action movies. You will be
just fine.

The majority of the week is spent
commuting to and from work and of
course, working. The weekends, if
free time is available, are for family,
friends, fun and relaxation.

You will encounter less racism and
deal with more classism. However,
you are more than equipped to deal
with racism. Confidence will play a
keen role in your survival.

Life abroad is less stressful because
your focus is not on gas, lights, water
and rent. Travel offers you the
opportunity to try new things, take
risks, eat different foods, dance
(whether you can or not) and
discover the person you have been
hiding. And if you have survived
America, you can handle any racism
that you will likely encounter.
