Giants were here. In using the term giants, I am referring to persons at least 7 feet (2.1m) and up to 13 feet (4m) in height. Given that pre-modern man was significantly shorter on th average than we are today (many athletes in modern times are 6’5” or taller (2 meters)) thes giants would have certainly seemed of extraordinary stature.. The first mention of these horses can be found in the Iliad where they are present in the "Catalogue of Heroes" (book II, 851-852) in which Homer tells of the attempt by the Venetians of Paphlagonia, allies of the Trojans, to free the city. Paphlagonia was a region of present-day Turkey, not far from Troy where, Homer writes, "the race of wild mules was born". www.ancient-origins.net
