South View News October 2018
Welcome to the first South View article of the year 2018/2019. We’d like to say a big welcome to all the new staff and children that have joined this year.
On Wednesday 12th September, the Year Threes had an exciting Stone Age Day, which they all dressed up for. Jack Bosma, age 7, said, ‘I really enjoyed Stone Age Day!’ A company called Portals from History came in with interesting stone age artefacts, including a Wooly Mammoth tusk. Emily Dinley and Sophia Norton, age 7, said, ‘We thought it was fun.’ The lucky children had to answer questions, make a mini
Stonehenge, a fishing activity, and behaved so well they were allowed to hold the artefacts. Sarah Weston, age 7, said, ‘My favourite activities were fishing and holding the artefacts.’
Mini Police
Here in school we have a new police scheme, Mini Police. On Thursday 13th September, 17 children from year 5 and 6 were elected to become role models for the rest of the community. These children will help around Crowland and in school. You can recognise these children by their dark coats, hi-vis jackets and t-shirts, all with the Mini Police logo on.
