Evidentiary Photographs – AFI-LLC - January 2022 1 of 4

Beginning January 2022 our agency changed from a monthly newsletter to a
monthly blog, commentary, or article. Each month a topical article is published in
the areas of Expert Legal Investigations and Medicolegal Consultations of Personal
Injury, Negligence and Death in Civil, Criminal and Probate litigation.

We continue to post News of Our Profession, Conferences & Training, Case
Studies and other typical newsletter content daily on our agency social media –
        www.linkedin.com/company/4n6associates & www.twitter.com/4n6associates.

New Commentary: Evidentiary Photographs – Originals vs. Everything Else (including PDFs and PPTs)
In last month’s agency newsletter, we highlighted a recent analysis by and expert his high-profile exposure of false
photographic evidence. Here we share why anything other than
original image files is not evidence, including for courtroom
                                                     demonstrative purposes.

                                                     -- Retaining Photographic Evidence

This isn’t a new topic for us, we have covered it before. We also refer to our May 2021 newsletter commentary,
Photographic Documentation to Presentation Images (Original, Scanned, b/w, Embedded, PDF and Converted)

One other issue we have too often, specific to photographs and videos, are the statutory and/or official agency’s policies
to not release these due to potential public harm. We will discuss the reasons for the policies, and the problems created,
        in a future commentary.
