Giving Thanks – All Year
One day a year – Thanksgiving – is set aside for us to gather with family and friends to give
our thanks for the year. Every day is such a day. Every day we tell our family how thankful
we are and appreciate all the love we all share. We also give thanks to our clients and
colleagues in each newsletter.

Last year we gave thanks to those in our family we have lost in 2021 and early 2022. They
are not forgotten. Each with a lifetime of memories, lessons and love. It continues to be a
struggle, and we have begun to find the laughter from those memories, they have also
given comfort, knowing the fortune and strength we have as a family.

To all our family, friends, colleagues, and clients – our most heartfelt thanks to all for making 2023 a better year.

Featured Commentary (November): Findings in Expert Consultations of Death and SBI
This commentary comes from many conversations we have with families in discussing our
process in reviewing the death of their loved one. Most often their concerns are founded -
such as being suspicious due to some unusual circumstances in how the body was when
found. However, their reasoning for these suspicions are actually a digression from facts and
evidence - perhaps the same as some juries have when thinking of the fading CSI effect from
the genre of television and movies.

Our goal, and passion, is to sort through everything from the official records, reports, and
photographs to the questions the family has - and bring both answers and closure, no matter
the findings or expectations. The same holds true of all of our legal investigations and expert
consultations, not just death - but serious bodily injury, and also in civil, criminal and even
