5-6 Susan Meiselas received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and her MA in visual education from Harvard University. Meiselas joined Magnum Photos in 1976 and has worked as a freelance photographer since then. She is best known for her coverage of the insurrection in Nicaragua and her documentation of human rights issues in Latin America. She is presently serving as President of the Magnum Foundation. 7-8 Eugene Richards is a photographer, writer, and documentary filmmaker who has authored seventeen books, the most recent being War Is Personal (Many Voices Press, 2010),
a documentation in words and pictures of the human consequences of the Iraq war,
and Red Ball of a Sun Slipping Down (Many Voices Press, 2014), which speaks of life
in the Arkansas Delta decades ago and today. Among numerous honors, Mr. Richards
has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Award, an International Center of Photography Infinity Award, and the Kraszna-Krausz Award for Photographic Innovation in Books. His photographs are represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, the International Center of Photography, Centre Pompidou, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the New York Public Library, among others. 9-10 Ari Rossner is a Paris-based beauty, fashion and portrait photographer. He collaborates with magazines and advertising agencies, shooting campaigns for major companies in the cosmetics industry such as L’Oréal, Bourjois, T. LeClerc, Sephora, Nina Ricci and Natura Brasil. 11-12 Elena Chernyshova is a Russian documentary photographer, based in France. In 2011 Elena received a grant from the Lagardère Foundation to create the photo documentary, Days of Night – Nights of Day, about the daily life of the industrial city of Norilsk, 400 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle in Siberia. 13-14 Eric Franceschi began his professional career in Marseille. He has scoured the PACA region and beyond, photographing for newspapers, particularly the news daily, Libération. 15-16 Sim Chi Yin is a photographer based in Beijing and a member of VII Photo Agency. She is on the British Journal of Photography’s Ones to Watch list of photographers in 2014. She shoots regularly for The New York Times and her work has appeared in The New Yorker, TIME, Le Monde, Newsweek, Vogue USA and many more.
