רקע: המחבר רבי שלמה סקאהלר היה מגדולי המשיבים, עד שהגאון מטשעבין כינהו "החתם סופר של גאליציה". תלמיד רבי אברהם דוד מבוטאטש, היה מקורב לחוגי החסידות. בזיווגו הראשון היה חתן של רבי משה מנחם מנדל, שהיה תלמיד האוהב ישראל מאפטא. בשו״ת בית שלמה יש תשובות שהשיב להרה״ק רבי ישראל מטשורטקוב כשהלה

Unique Features: e most encompassing and in-depth work on tractate Yevamot written by an Acharon.
Ownership signature on the title page: Yitzchak son of my father master and teacher Moshe Aryeh Freund, grandson of the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freund of Nassod. Rabbi Moshe Aryeh and his son Yitzchak were murdered in the Holocaust. Handwritten comment on page 2b.
Background: e author Rabbi Shlomo of Skala was one of the greatest respondents, so much so that the Tchebiner Gaon referred to him as “ e Chatam Sofer of Galicia.״ A disciple of Rabbi Avraham Dov of Buczacz; he was associated with the chassidut. He rst wife was the daughter of Rabbi Moshe Menachem Mendel who was a disciple of the Ohev Yisrael of Apta. In the responsa Beit Shlomo, there are responses which he wrote to the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov when the latter was young.
Condition: Fine. Aging stains, reinforcement with paper on the margins of the title page and the corners of the following leaf.

Background: e rst edition of the book by the Admor Rabbi Chaim of Kossov [1795-1854], the son of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kossov, and the patriarch of the Vizhnitz dynasty. e book was printed from the author׳s manuscript soon after his passing, with an introduction from his three sons the Admors Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Kossov, Rabbi Yosef Alter of Kossov, and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Vizhnitz.
Condition: Fine. Minimal aging stains. Professional completion of the margins of two leaves. New binding.
