Unique Features: Organized and legible manuscript with sol- itary erasures and many marginal additions and comments by the author - indicating that he intended on printing this work. e work opens with a lengthy introduction from the author in which he states that he decided to write a commentary on Song of Songs since he was dissatis ed with all the commentaries on this sacred work that he had studied. e work has never been printed. e manuscript bears the stamp of the Ramsgate library.
Brunswick-Braunschweig is a city east of Hanover, in North Germany. is manuscript was written by Mahari״l Segal, rabbi of Braunschweig, as indicated in the colophon of the Mahari״l׳s elucidation of the Tehillim which was written in the same handwriting.
Condition: Fine-very ne. Minimal aging stains. Simple binding with gilt embossed letters.

תוכן: חיבור על שיר השירים [דף 109-110], פירוש על שיר השירים [117], חיבור גדול על התורה [117-182], חידוש על מסכת קידושין [186-189], דרשת “דרשו ה׳ בהמצאו״ [189-193], דרוש לנשמה [194-199] ו״דרוש
לנשמה בביאור יותר״ [199-200].
מאפיינים יחודיים: כתב יד מסודר וקריא עם מחיקות בודדות, בתוספת הגהות רבות מאת המחבר בשולי העמודים, המראים על כוונת המחבר להעלות את החיבור על מכבש הדפוס. בראשית החיבור ישנה הקדמה ארוכה מהמחבר בה כותב בו הוא מבאר שהחליט לכתוב ביאור לשיר השירים לאחר שלא נחה דעתו מכל הפירוש שראה לשיר קדוש זה.
החיבור לא נדפס. כתב היד מופיע עם חותמת הספריה ברמסגייט.
