רקע: רבי רפאל זילברמן, הידוע בשם “ר׳ רפאל דיין״ [תקצ״ט- תרע״ח, 1839-1917], נולד באומן שבאוקראינה. עלה עם הוריו לארץ בשנת תר״י [1850] ולמד בישיבות בצפת, ואצל אביו שכיהן כרבה של צפת. בשנת תר״כ [1860] התמנה לדיין ומו״צ של הקהילה האשכנזית בצפת. לאחר פטירת אביו בשנת תרל״ב [1872] מונה לרב הראשי של עדת האשכנזים
בצפת. נודע בחוכמתו ובגדלותו בתורה. מצב: טוב. מעט כתמי זמן. בשער נצבע מקום ההדפסה בדיו. כריכה חדשה.

Unique Features: Stamps of Rabbi Rafael Zilberman, Av Beit Din of Safed. Stamps of Rabbi Chaim Zvi Teichmen of Munkacs, and the handwritten signature of Yoel Zvi of Moshkowitz.
Background: Rabbi Rafael Zilberman, known as “Reb Rafael Dayan1839-1917] ״] was born in Uman in the Ukraine. He immi- grated to Israel together with his parents in 1850 and studied in yeshivas in Safed and from his father who served as rabbi of Safed. In 1860 he was appointed as dayan of the Ashkenazi congregation of Safed. After his father׳s death in 1872, he was appointed as the Chief Rabbi of the Ashkenazi congregation of Safed. Known for his wisdom and greatness in Torah.
Condition: Fine. Minimal aging stains. On the title page, the place of printing is colored in ink. New binding.
