THE MA TERIALIZA TIONS of vibuthi (sacred ash), of religious objects, talismans and gifts, of fish and loaves for the poor—the raising of the dead—what is the meaning of these signs and wonders, for what purpose, toward what end? Are these indeed signs of a higher, perhaps Universal Consciousness? If so, can man’s individual consciousness expand—and literally merge with this Universal Consciousness? How does consciousness evolve to this dimension? Sai Baba addresses these questions in a spiritual discourse delivered on his birthday, November 23, 1976.
