Leading by Example
Sai Baba’s life is his message about how to love and serve society. He takes no vacation and has worked unceasingly from morning until night serving humanity since he was a child. He is a role model of the perfect servant of humanity. He walks daily (since a hip injury in June 2003, he has been driven daily) among devotees who thrill just to see him, gives divine discourses, grants personal interviews, and appears in dreams, thus inspiring and awakening people all over the world to a spiritual life. Moreover, he is chancellor of a university system, head of hospitals, and overseer of countless other projects. His love and teachings form the basis for his own community (the ashram) and the Sai Baba Centers that are developing under his name worldwide. Among the hundreds of thousands of devotees present at his ashram during his 75th birthday celebration on November 23, 2000, one hundred and sixty eight countries were represented.
