Out of Swami’s emphasis on a spiritually oriented education, which he calls ‘Educare,’ has arisen his values education program for children. The SSE (Sai Spiritual Education) program, has been adapted to many different cultures, and the program is instituted in countries worldwide. An international array of world-class educators has put in countless hours developing this well-defined, effective, and innovative program. Teaching children how to quiet the mind, telling stories exemplifying role models of high character from different religions and cultures, contemplating inspired sayings, singing in groups, and engaging in group service activities form the basis of this character-building education. Its aim is to bring out our innate divinity, to reveal the underlying unity in diversity, to develop character through education, and to teach that education is not merely for earning a living, it is for life!
