" For the listener it's all about reliving the experience... listening to the sets again exactly as they were played in the club, but also in the future we're working towards making Evermix a really social experience - where you can add photos, connect and build a community with other people who were there, and even with the
DJs themselves. "
What's new with Mixbox 2?
Over the last year or so we've had tons of really useful feedback from the DJs, and one big thing that kept cropping up was that sometimes you can't find an extra power supply when you're playing. So we've made it so you can power the MixBox2 directly from your phone with very minimal power drain. The new MixBox2 is also more forgiving if the audio is clipping, the software has been improved to make the audio quality even better, and the casing design has had a facelift to make it look slicker.
What does the future hold for Evermix?
We've just opened up the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, so this is a big thing for us for the next month. Bringing in a new wave of DJs is exciting for us. DJs just need to leave their email address
and we'll contact them with updates and to give them first bite at the cherry when the MixBox2 is on sale. We're only producing a limited run this first time, so this gives interested DJs the chance to buy one before we advertise to the wider community.
After that our goal is really to bring Evermix to a much wider DJ and listener audience around the world, whilst still keeping the close community feel we've created with our founder member
DJs. We're still very young and we've got loads of new features and improvements up our sleeves to release in 2017.
Finally, and probably the hardest question of all, of the thousands of mixes that have been recorded, do you have a favourite?
That really depends on who you speak to in the team. There's quite a range of tastes going on within Evermix. But one
to pull out is Doorly's set from Snowbombing last year - totally
unique. In our early days it was always a massive excitement to look at the site after the weekend and suddenly see another big headline set had suddenly popped up from over the weekend - that gave us a big rush. One weekend in particular was amazing when we saw cool sets had gone up from almost every corner of the globe including Miami, Tokyo, Sydney, Stockholm & Ibiza. We're incredibly grateful for all the music that has been uploaded and all the support from our members!
