DJ competition BURN Residency returns for 2017
Applications are now open for this year's contest, with the winner set to receive a management contract worth €100,000.
Applications for BURN Residency 2017 are now open.
This will be the sixth edition of the annual DJ competition, which gives aspiring electronic artists from all over the world a chance to win a professional management contract worth €100,000. Other prizes include a five-week residency at an Ibiza nightclub and a set onstage in a major European city. Last year's winner, Italian DJ and producer Lollino, has since released a mix via John Digweed's Bedrock label and signed to Ask My Management. (Watch a video about Lollino's rise below.)
The first stage of the contest will take place online, with participants asked to upload a mix to Mixcloud. The entrants will then be whittled down to 26. These DJs will take part in a four-day bootcamp, after which the group will be trimmed further to 16. Those who make the cut will then perform onstage at a major European city, before travelling to Ibiza for a week of lectures, workshops, masterclasses and tests in the company of various world-famous artists. (Past tutors include Carl Cox, Jamie Jones and Steve Lawler.)
From the 16, three DJs will be rewarded with a five-
week Ibiza residency in the run-up to the end of the 2017 season. The overall winner will be crowned shortly after .

Armada Launches China Tour
Even though 2017 is still in its early stages, Armada Music is already turning it into their best year yet. Amidst the rush of quality releases and high-profile signings, the Amsterdam-based record label has announced the first-ever Armada Night China tour. The tour is to take place between March 1st and March 4th and features three of Armada Music’s top artists: Andrew Rayel, David Gravell and KhoMha.
From Wednesday March 1st to Saturday March 4th, Armada Night is to turn the country of China into the dance music epicenter of the world. The tour, a joint project with Sigma Touring, starts off with a show at Club Grammy in Foshan on Wednesday, after which it offers a continuation of the madness to the crowds at respectively Space in Chengdu, M2 Club Yun in Shenzhen and Myst in Shanghai on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The choice for Andrew Rayel, David Gravell and KhoMha as the tour’s headliners was a definite no-brainer. Andrew Rayel, who is to drop his second artist album this year, is one of the biggest Trance artists in the game, whereas David Gravell and KhoMha are globally considered to be among the scene’s biggest talents and fastest rising stars.
