Keeping it close to home now with Irelands very own – Matador. Working under the ENTER banner, Matador is a regular resident performing extensively in Ibiza and at Enter events all over the world from London to Amsterdam and farther afield in Los Angeles and Miami. Matador’s successes are reflected by fact that he was awarded Best Live Performer Ibiza 2014 at the DJ Awards, recognition of his dedicated efforts in a live setting. Matador also continues his studio prowess with a string of releases including a remixes for techno legends Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann. In this set Matador puts his best forward for the 2013 ‘Monegros Desert Festival’ in Spain, This is dark and trippy techno at its absolute finest! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5IkILmPXF4
Now to one of my personal favourites and a DJ I have been listening to for over 20 Years - Mark farina. Mark Farina has developed his own trademark style, known as "Mushroom Jazz": acid jazz infused with jazzy, organic productions along with urban beats. Mark's downtempo style has grabbed many fans by the heart-strings and led him to start a weekly ‘Mushroom Jazz’ club night in San Francisco. Over the course of 3 years at the club, Mark and Mushroom Jazz established a huge following and when the club finally closed, Farina continued the tradition by releasing a series of mix CDs under the same Mushroom Jazz style. Since then, Mark has been performing worldwide and his House sets are legendary! This (to me) is Chicago House at its absolute BEST - Mark Farina always comes to get down. Banging track selection, perfectly mixed! Just see the comments for the LOVE for this mix! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9dFpFg3_wI
And finally we are getting our Old–School appreciation on with the Legends that are – Underworld. What is there I can possibly say to introduce you to these guys? They have been probably the no.1 influence to uncountable DJ’s and Dance music acts alike over the years and are still going strong today 20 years later! They have fused together elements of techno, dub, trance, drum ’n’ bass, ambient house and even blues! The colossal ‘Born Slippy’ – immortalised as it was in the movie ‘Trainspotting’ – became the soundtrack for a generation of Clubbers across the globe. It would be hard to find a DJ on the planed that didn’t have a no of Underworld tracks in the playlist ready to unleash when the time is right! Underworld put together two hours of the music that inspired their seminal album dubnobasswithmyheadman, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014! More of a Mix-Tape than a mix it is packed full of absolute killer tunes from the day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyiA_CwYMGE
