" The thought of all the activities that happened on the ship makes me anxious!. I felt like I was always going to miss out on all the fun activities that
were all happening at the same time. I was running deck to deck endlessly through the
COSTUMES
Each night is a costume themed night, so you’ll see the same person running around in the most obscure costumes as the boat sails. Im talking about dinosaurs, mermaids, penises, clowns, pimps, and pirates. Anything but clothes night was mind blowing. I have yet to see this many people participate in dress up themes in my life. Each day, night, and certain events were like walking through a different time zone.
MAKING FRIENDS
You will meet a ton of new friends. You’re bound to lose your group at some point and bump into a one that’s down to make sure you have a great time. I shuffled through the hallways where I found secret sets and themed rooms. The Star Wars themed one was insane. There’s no way you can miss out on the room parties, especially if your neighbor brought his krks and controller. Everyone on the ship is so welcoming since we’re all under one roof. It’s like living in a hotel with your best friends. You’ll end up leaving Groove Cruise saying by to bar tenders, 100s of GCFam members, and even DJs. You might not see the crew you came with until the end of the trip.
WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND IF YOU’RE A VIRGIN
Bring Dramamine and cough drops. If you get motion sickness easily there’s a medical team that can help you as well if the Dramamine doesn’t help. Cough drops are vital. I lost my voice the second night trying to talk to everyone over the sound. Also the captain runs as fast as he can to home base once you leave the destination. It was rough trying to dance through the Dancetronauts performance with the ship swinging you left and right. My best advice to counteract the boats motion is by swaying in the opposite direction. I wouldn’t suggest sitting, you can feel the boat rocking more. If you loose your room key don’t worry guest services can print you a new one instantly. I had to get a new one each night.
FOOD IS AVAILABLE 24/7
I couldn’t believe it when I saw pizza being freshly baked at 4am. The ship is equipped with Chefs ready to make you a gourmet meal any time. My favorite restaurant was the Mardi Gras, I was constantly coming back for the different entrees and desserts. Coffee and breakfast call your name after you leave the sunrise set each morning. It’s like heaven on earth. Even if you go to your room you can call the concierge for food or any other amenities.
ALL THE POSSIBILITIES THAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOURE OFF THE BOAT
Getting of the port in Ensenada, Mexico was exciting. The Mexican flag waved good morning to everyone as the boat was docking. They planned multiple excursions for GCFam. I had the choice of riding atvs, zip lining, a wine tour, horse back riding or the mansion cliff top party. I decided to stay on the property to volunteer with the children and to catch 3LAUS’ set. Open bar had everyone going nuts on the bus ride back to the ship. You can feel the love from your GC shipmates every time you guys head into a new activity. The excitement never stops building when you’re with your crew.
TRY NOT TO STARE TOO LONG
Groove Cruise is charted with the most daring group of music lovers. Some of them get intricate with costume themes and some of them don’t wear anything but a sticker. You’ll definitely see things that you don’t talk about what went down on the ship with your mom. There was one point a dancer was rubbing herself on the DJ booth and fell off the stage and cut the sound. I couldn’t help but feel bad for her, she tried to continue but Thomas Jack wasn’t having it.
WHENS THE NEXT ONE
I left the boat with all my sorrows and fears in the sea. I don’t think I’ll be excited to go to any festival after this. Groove Cruise took me on a journey I never thought was possible. This is more than just a music festival on a boat, this is a family you want everyone to join. The next ship is setting sail in January from Miami to Coco Cay and Nassau and it’s already sold out. For any Groove Cruise virgins going remember to bring cough drops. To any Groove Cruise Veterans get ready to be reunited with your family for another 96-hour rager.
