Tell us how you started out and early influences?
I started in 1991 at the age of 17. I grew up in Ballymun, Ireland, and was lucky enough to live close to very well known DJ's Digger Barns and Davo McDonnell, whom I learnt my craft from. 'The Penthouse' hosted a club night 'Called Freedom to Dance', which I was lucky enough to play at. I suppose looking back this was my first gig. The night was huge and people came in droves from all corners of the city and hosted DJ's like Liam Dollard & Warren Kiernan, and Pat Hyland to name but a few.
You're an Old-school DJ do you think you ever make the transition to Digital?
For me Vinyl is where it’s at so the move to digital doesn't appeal to me right now. Vinyl for me is more Fun it’s more challenging and requires greater concentration also the feel of the 'Wax' is just special. Any Vinyl collectors out there will know what I'm talking about.
Best gig and why?
I played a gig last April in the Wiley Fox for the 'Energy Collective Crew' and it went off! The crowd was fantastic and the vibe in the club was
electric, I was feeding of the energy. Big shout out to Taran Bayet Du Fournet , Declan Kalizer. Also a special thank you to Paddy Sheridan for having me down for two amazing gigs at Shaft over the past year I look forward to getting back there.
Who have you worked with and whom would you like to? And why?
I played a lot of gigs with 'The Ear Candy Crew' ran by Martin Pipe, where I held a residency for nearly two years. One of these gigs brought me to the Voodoo Lounge here in Dublin, where I played with Alistair Whitehead and a host of Dublin DJ’s.
I have also played alongside Judge Jules at Voodoo For the 'Free Spirit Crew'. Another gig back at Voodoo was with Warren Kiernan – Dilly and Pressure for the 'Reactivate Crew', at Shaft, which is one of my favorite gigs. I played alongside Paddy Sheridan – Dean Sherry – Ed Case – John Dwyer Aka Casper and Tony Dexter.
I suppose on a bigger scale I would like to play at a gig that I recently attended in Preston over in the U.K. 'Dance Decade Presents' ran by Rob Denwood and the The PA's played, it was an absolutely savage
night some of the acts were Shades of Rhythm - Altern8 - SL2 - Birazze Inc. - DJ Slipmat and many more check them out on Facebook and watch out for more gigs by them if your over that way.
Plans for the future?
I am always open to new gigs and opportunities, so what ever comes my way in 2017. Another big passion of mine is to one-day play at a festival here in Ireland and some clubs abroad.
